When you hear the word
Christmas, the first things would come out to your mind would be exchanging gifts,
non-stop parties and mouthwatering lushes. But all of these things are not
really the essence of Christmas. So what is really the essence of Christmas?
As the days passes by, Christmas is also getting nearer. I
can feel Christmas as I walked out and see those beautiful lights outside the
houses and those big Christmas trees around the city. Students are also excited
for their Christmas programs/ parties in school as well for more/ less two weeks’
vacation. You can also see children and old ages along the highway walking and
going to every house to have their carols. Fireworks are also there. People also
are used to have their “Noche Buena” when it’s already twelve on the “Bisperas
ng Pasko” But let us not forget why there is Christmas. December 25, Christmas,
is the day when Jesus Christ was born. And the essence of Christmas for me is
giving and sharing your blessings w/o expecting any replacement. And Christmas is
not just for those who are rich. Christmas is for everyone. It doesn’t matter
if you don’t have any money for “Noche Buena”, as long as you are w/ your family
and having Jesus w/ your hearts.
